James Sisti Art Exhibit: May 1 - June 30

Nature Journaling is the perfect hobby for curious nature-lovers.

About the artist: James Sisti is an expedition artist, wilderness guide, and nature-drawing instructor. He has also declared himself a storyteller and a beard expert. A Pratt Institute illustration graduate, he started a company called Hike and Draw, offering nature drawing and journaling lessons online. Some of the lessons are available for free, and subscriptions are available. The subjects are compelling and James is a very clear and patient instructor. Lessons are designed all skill levels, and his goal is to help everyone find a special connection with nature through art.

Last summer, James went on an expedition as an artist for a scientific study in the Swiss Alps. The group traversed a previously established High Level Route from Chamonix to Zermatt to see if it could still be done. Along the way they studied snow samples to reveal how much plastic there is in the atmosphere. The whole project was made more difficult by the intense heat wave in Europe.

His first book will be published this summer!

James is also holding a Nature Journaling workshop on Wenesday, May 10. Interested in learning more? Please check the event page, here.
