Ultrarunner Aims To Set Record On Long Path To Raise Funds For Trail Conference

Body

Meet Kim Levinsky, ultrarunner in New Jersey and the Race Director for Sassquad Trail Runners, will be completing 358-mile Long Path in New York in an attempt to set the female supported fastest known time - and raise funds in support of our mission.

Kim and the Sassquad trail running organization, have been an integral part in bringing local trail runners into the Trail Conference community.  Kim and Sassquad have been an invaluable resource in bringing trail runners to volunteer on the trails in unique ways, building an important sense of community. She has interviewed various members of the Trail Conference through her podcast to raise awareness for the Trail Conference and to encourage volunteering. Sassquad has organized trash pick-ups or “plogging” days (picking up litter while jogging), donated race proceeds to the Trail Conference and increased awareness of our publications both digital and printed for various events. To date, Sassquad has donated nearly $10,000 from race fees, sponsorships, club member dues and special campaigns.

Kim is a serious ultra-marathoner who holds five local fastest known time records; Hudson Highlands (NY), Wanaque Traverse, Bear Mountain State Park 7 Summits (NY), Lenape Trail (NJ), Manhattan Loop (NY) and is set on adding another to her list this summer. As an active participant in advancing the Trail Conference’s mission, Kim has challenged herself to set the record for the female supported fastest known time to complete the New York portion of the Long Path - to benefit the organization. Kim's official start will be July 6, 2023, but you can follow her journey as she prepares through her YouTube Vlog.

You can help cheer Kim on her quest and support her in meeting her goal of raising $1,500 for the Trail Conference mission!
