Still a beautiful hike, but.....
Laurie
I did this hike again on Aug. 3, 2017. The hike was still beautiful and scenic after you crossed the road to where the falls are. Once you go under the power lines, everything was so overgrown, that you could not get through it. We had to turn around and ended up walking on a paved road about a mile back to where the car was parked.

Update - Must take alternative path

This trail is open well maintained, however, the bridge connecting the end of the Van Campens Glen Trail to the Watergate Picnic Area has been washed out. The trail now slowly closes off into a thicket of thorn bushes and the footbridge is no longer there. Use the following adaptation:

When you reach the abandoned Cutoff Road, turn left and follow the road for about 500 feet. Just before a bridge over the brook, turn right and follow the trail along the brook. The terrain now becomes flatter, and the trail moves away from the brook. Just before crossing under large powerlines, there is a small service road, turn left on this road, cross an old slatted brdige and continue about 100 feet to Old Mine Road. Turn right and continue along the paved road about 500 feet until you see the entrance to grassy Watergate Picnic Area on your right. Turn right into the picnic are and proceed straight ahead, folloing the grassy area as it curves through the far end of the park.

Follow this road for half a mile as it curves left and parallels the brook passing various historic buildings, to Millbrook Village, where the hike began.

Great Hike
MA

Great hike, great directions, thank you. Van Campens Glens is beautiful, but the bridge that leads into the Watergate Picinc Area is washed out so we turned left and went over the brook, onto Old Mine Rd and walked along it, until we came to the Water Gate picnic area and followed the directions from there. The road along the brook to Millbrook Village is washed out, but walkable.

Excellent Hike
lisha

We did the hike on the 2nd Sunday of October, weather was great and so was the autumn foliage. We used the coordinates on our GPS and we got to the trailhead with no problems. The trial instructions were very well written, we printed them out before leaving and followed them throughout the entire hike. My favourite part was the Van Campen Glen trail, there we came across awesome waterfalls and cascades, we even took a couple of dips albeit short ones given that the water was near freezy. Thanks Daniel for the submission.

Sounds like quite a hike to
Jack
Sounds like quite a hike to get there! (pardon the pun) I think it would be worth it though, to get the full experience. beckham england manager

This hike is really great!

I did this hike again last weekend with a group of Scouts and adults spending the weekend at the nearby Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco. It is really a fabulous hike -- many participants commented that the hike was even nicer than they had anticipated.

Hike.
Sam
This hike appears to be quite fun. A nice leisurely walk that takes about four hours and produces some wonderful scenic landscapes can be just the ticket for those wanting to get away for an afternoon. The landscape, the fresh air, the unhurried pace of it all works for me. How often do we talk about this kind of activity and then not follow through? This hike would be just what the doctor ordered. I'm sure it would do wonders for the spirit and energize one's outlook. casino en ligne
